June 17 2023

In this one-day intensive workshop, you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with this exciting topic and become creative with the programmes SonicPi (music) and Hydra (visuals). In LiveCoding you play the computer like an instrument, the code becomes your musical and visual composition.

All you need is a willingness to experiment. Previous knowledge is not necessary!

Course of events:

At the beginning of the workshop, we will give you a brief insight into the world of live coding.

Afterwards, you will compose varied pieces of music with the extensive programming possibilities of SonicPi, using synthesisers, samples and effects as sound sources.

With the visual live programming environment Hydra, you have the opportunity to explore image and camera manipulations and create unique visuals.

This will create your own audio-visual performance to present at the end of the day.
