Amongst others, Dirk von Gehlen pays homage to the copy, using the creativity of the audience.
On September 23rd the Internetstadl opens up to web phenomena: Harlem Shake, Confused Travolta or the ‘Mainzer Tür’ (Mainz door) are examples for a new, active form of folk art, which emerges digitally through creativity and without initial hurdles. The main drive is the digital copy, which received a dedication in form of a song of praise by Dirk von Gehlen exactly five years ago.
Five years after the publication of „Mashup – The Praise Of The Copy“, von Gehlen is conducting a workshop on the topic of memes – driven by the enthusiasm and creativity of visitors. Selected episodes of the ZDFinfo series „15 minutes of fame” will be played for further inspiration.
Entrance fee: 4 Euros. Tickets can be bought at the box office.
Internetstadl is curated by Alain Bieber, artistic director of the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf, and the web-artists Florian Kuhlmann and Thomas Artur Spallek.
